Well here I am. I have moved from myspace to wordPress. I am a little nervous. I am not an English major, teacher, expert! I know a lot of you are. So I am sure this blog will be grammar incorrect. I hope that does not stop you from reading all that God has done and will do in my life. Here is a post from my myspace site. Remember to God be the glory!
The bible tells us repeatedly to have a joyful heart. Not just in times of prosperity but also in times of adversity. That is why my myspace and wordpress name is “A joyful heart!?” Notice the ? mark. I often wonder if I have had a joyful heart in times of trial. I would have to say no not at all times. When my heart is not joyful what is it? It is full of self serving self seeking deceit. My job is to obey the Lord and to be joyful. We need to remember a couple of things. First there is a BIG difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is an emotion that is affected by outside influence. Joy is a fruit of the spirit. When I truly understood this after Scott died I became joyful. I am joyful that I am saved and that Scott was saved and is in heaven. I am joyful that I will see him again one day. I am joyful that Jesus died for me so that I can have eternal life. I am joyful that God choose me before the foundation of time to be His. Am I happy about all of these things? No! I will never be happy that Scott is gone and I must live the rest of my days here without his happy smile. I would prefer for him to be here. I would prefer for my children and my husband to have him here and to not be in pain everyday. I would be happy if things were back to before Scott died. I am however joyful because of the things I mentioned above. The second thing is if you are truly a born again Christian you can have joy. Jesus left us to go to heaven but He did not leave us alone. He sent His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is to help us as Christians walk here on this earth. The fruits of the spirit are ours for the asking. So if you feel joyless and hopeless but you are sure of your salvation ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh today. Ask a pastor or Christian friend to pray for baptism in the Holy Spirit. Trust me it is powerful. If I can find joy in my heart as I am missing my son so can you no matter what is your circumstance.
Are you joyful in all circumstances?
